Let's say that you need a space that is going to cost you a thousand dollars a month. There's some utilities with that, electric, fuel, maybe you have to have internet in the space and so you want to plan for the cost of the internet so that you can operate whatever you need to with internet. I would plan everything that you need for that physical space and then I would plan your staffing. What do you actually need for staff to be able to operate this program? Now, there's two different kinds of staff that we are going to think about. We have program specific staff and then we have staff that are general administrative staff and I would separate these into two different components because depending on your organization, you may have several different programs which would need their own program staff and then you would have administrative staff that might be overseeing all of those programs or they might be serving across all those programs. I'll give you an example in my family organization, we had elementary schools, we had a high school, we had youth programs, we had community programs, medical clinics. We had a lot of different programs that were going on but the directors who were over all of the programs, our executive team, they would be considered more administrative staff. Their salaries couldn't be tied to a specific program. Now, program manager, a principal, a school director, all of those roles could be tied to the specific program. Another role that might not be able to be tied to a specific program, I would consider it administrative, is your financial roles, your bookkeeper, your CFO, people that are in some financial capacity that are helping to manage the books, those might be considered administrative staff. Your fundraising staff might not be able to be tied to a specific program and so those development coordinators, officers, managers, anybody in the development fundraising arm, those would be considered marketing or fundraising. You could put them right now in the general overhead administrative team or those administrative costs. So again, with staffing, you want to be thinking of two different buckets, your program staff and then your administrative staff.
